Two exhibitions are on view until 5/04/2026 at the Trinkhall Museum .
This Museum opened a little over 5 years ago to provide a superb setting for the works of artists, particularly those from Créahm .
I will be talking to you here about Melancholies.
What to expect from this exhibition which marked the 5th anniversary of the Trinkhall?
This exhibition offers a retrospective look at five years of programming, revisiting the works presented and the recurring themes that run through them. More than a summary, it invites a sensitive reinterpretation of the collection, revealing the diversity and aesthetic power of the works brought together.
The question of mental disability or so-called cognitive impairments becomes secondary, in favor of what sets the gaze in motion: emotion, gesture, intensity. The exhibition is part of a reflection that breaks free from conventional representations of the margin and otherness, considered as constructions rather than as essences.
Through this rereading, a common thread emerges: melancholy. Neither joy nor sadness, neither memory nor forgetting, it appears as a common space of transformation, a place from which the works continue to question, to disturb and to move.
The newsletter from the museums of the City of Liège is published to us every month.
Exhibitions and events are presented there in an enthusiastic manner.
The one you will find attached is common to the months of December 2025 and January 2026, but also includes a little blooper reel ;)
Since it is a YouTube link, it is normally easy to change the language or subtitles.

Liège is known as the "Liège, City of Christmas" .
Of course, you know the Christmas market which is spread across the Place du marché, the Place St Lambert and extends to the Place Cathédrale where the ice rink is located.
But Liège is also full of small markets, often artisanal, sometimes original, which take place every weekend.
Here are some examples of markets for the coming weekends.

The latest edition of the Jacadinde Christmas market
More than 30 creators showcase their unique handcrafted creations in a warm and family-friendly atmosphere.
This weekend is crazy! You'll have to make choices because you won't be able to do everything... and even though I'll try to list what I've heard about, I'm sure I'll forget something.
In addition to the monthly events due on the first weekend of the month (free museums on Sundays, the possibility of going up to the panoramic roof of the administrative city, etc.) and the opening of the October Fair, which some people eagerly await to taste their first lacquemant, many events/festivities are taking place everywhere.
Even though the Coteaux de la Citadelle isn't taking place this year, the bars and restaurants of the Historic Center haven't said their last word!
They are offering you the first edition of "Bars en fête".
And don't expect just to "have a drink," no, they've thought big! It'll be varied: concerts, magic shows, marching bands... You'll definitely find something you like.
For the program, it's this way!
Liège is known for being a city with a rich religious past, as evidenced by our collegiate churches. And this weekend is theirs too!
Visiting the attic of Saint Paul's Cathedral or the Saint-Denis tower, seeing demonstrations of the restoration trades of Sainte-Croix, ... are just a few ideas of what is offered to you that is new. If you want to take advantage of it, a single website for both the program and for booking activities: https://www.circuitdescollegiales.be/
Not forgetting the traditional Batte on Sunday morning
